The pattern matching approach has a critical flaw - there are many concepts whose instances we join together which have no obvious commonality, or at least none that would exclusively join them - e.g. "game", "conflict", "art", even "truck". You can find some small similarities between the instances of these, but they would reduce to a feeling, not something visible. You could also find similarities between any two things if your threshold is low enough.
